Motivating Mom of the Month - July

We love celebrating our Motivating Mamas! This month we learn more about Katherine and why she is a motivating mom for all of us!

"I absolutely love how Katherine & her little cutie bring the biggest most inviting smiles to every class! She truly sets the best tone and gives out so many friendly vibes! I know other mamas feel the motivation she radiates! Katherine is an amazing mama who works hard & finds time to take care of herself! We are so fortunate and thankful she is a part of our village! Love ya, girl!" - Candice Agustin, Fit4Mom Instructor

"Katherine is such a dedicated & strong mama. She shows up to class and gives no less than 100%. We are lucky to have her and her beautiful little Lilyanna in our group. She always brings a smile that is so contagious. I’m so proud of her for getting herself nationally certified as an interpreter, all while being a new first-time mom. She is a great role model for her daughter to never give up!" - Shanon Link, Franchise Owner

"Katherine is an amazing mama and friend! Every time she comes to class, her smile shines bright and is contagious. She always makes other mamas feel welcome, and spends the class making sure others feel included. Katherine gives forth every ounce of effort she can while attending class, and it is apparent that she loves being a part of Fit 4 Mom!" - Tara Rose Javed, Fit4Mom Instructor

Who are the members of your family and where are you originally from?

My husband, Lorenzo and our 10-month-old daughter Lilyanna. We are originally from Las Cruces, NM.

When was your first Fit4Mom class and what do you remember about it?

My first Fit4Mom class was right after I was cleared to return to exercising when Lilyanna was about 7 weeks old. It was at the Springfield Mall and I didn't really know where I was going so I just followed someone else with a stroller. :) I was impressed by some of the other moms who made it a point to talk to me and welcome me as we walked between stations. I was also thankful for another mom who pushed my stroller a little bit when Lilyanna was fussy so I could do the workout.

Where can we find you? What is your Fit4Mom routine these days?

I am at the studio, occasionally STC, and super excited to be at BLP now! Pretty much any in-person class I can!

What is your current job? Or what did you do before staying at home (if you don’t currently work outside the home)?

I am a freelance sign language interpreter. I love interpreting and I am thankful that this is a flexible job I can still do part-time, and the rest of the time mostly stay home with Lilyanna.

What are 3 of your favorite things?

Jesus, my family, dessert :)

You are given 4 hours of FREE babysitting. What would you do?

Go on a date with my husband: dinner, a walk, ice cream, and just chatting

What has being a mom taught you?

Being a mom has taught me to be selfless, to love more than I ever thought possible, and that stopping for nursing, snuggles, and reading a book about tacos a million times (Lilyanna's new fave) is better than laundry and dishes that can wait.

What is your funniest or most embarrassing mommy moment so far?

I was at church with Lilyanna when she was 2 or 3 months old. The priest was talking, and his microphone cut out for just a second, which perfectly coincided with an explosion in Lilyanna's diaper. There were several people around me who heard and were trying not to laugh or make eye contact.

Any words of wisdom for other moms?

Stock up on the cute smiles, giggles, and cuddles during the good moments to help get through the hard moments.

What is your favorite thing about FIT4MOM? What would you tell someone thinking about joining?

I love that Fit4Mom is something I can do with my baby that's designed to be something for me and Lilyanna together. I'm not trying to squeeze a workout in, or sacrifice a workout to take care of her, but it's the perfect fit for my life as a mom! Especially as she is getting a little older now and can enjoy the songs and bubbles. :) I am also really thankful for the other moms and the community. After Lilyanna was born, I told my husband I felt like I needed to find new friends who were moms also and at the same place in life. Fit4Mom has introduced me to so many awesome moms to journey with!
