"Having Aneesa and Amin in my classes is so much fun. She is such a patient mom and never skips a beat. She’ll get snacks for her babe even while doing jumping jacks. Now that’s one tough mama! Both of their smiles are so contagious - makes my day! I’m super glad Aneesa took a chance on us - love her to bits!!!" -Shannon Link, Fit4Mom Owner
"Aneesa is a great mama to workout with! I love her positive, upbeat attitude every class. She’s so caring and supportive of all the moms in the village."-Kara Powers, Woodbridge Playgroup Captain
"Aneesa always comes to class with a huge smile on her face and radiates joy each class! She is kind, thoughtful, encouraging and a wonderful mom to be around!"-Cat Sethian, Fit4Mom Instructor
Who are the members of your family and where are you originally from?
My husband Adeel and our 18 month old Amin. I was born and raised in Saudi Arabia and my husband and I are of Pakistani origin. I came to the US 17 years ago.
When was your first Fit4Mom class and what do you remember about it?
My first class was in Sept 2019 at Springfield mall. I remember feeling exhausted but so happy to have met other new moms. Mommies were working out even with fussy babies and kids throwing tantrums and food on the floor. It was all chaotic but everyone was having fun! Until I started Fit4Mom I always felt embarrassed if my baby would cry in public. I loved that there was no judgement and I could get a great workout with my baby.
Where can we find you? What is your Fit4Mom routine these days?
I'm usually at Lorton or Burke, but if it works with naptime, we'll venture out to Springfield or Kingstowne.
What is your current job? Or what did you do before staying at home (if you don’t currently work outside the home)?
Before I decided to stay at home, I was a Process Engineer working in the semiconductor manufacturing industry. The job was pretty demanding but fun! I would love to go back to working soon once my kids are older.
What are 3 of your favorite things?
The beach, my family, and watching my shows alone in bed at the end of the day.
You are given 4 hours of FREE babysitting. What would you do?
Go somewhere outdoors with my husband or my girlfriends and then eat a nice quiet dinner without any interruptions.
What has being a mom taught you?
Most of all... patience and gratitude! Being a mom has made me learn to thank God for everything I have regardless of how hard some days can get.
What is your funniest or most embarrassing mommy moment so far?
Amin and I were at the park last week when it was a bit crowded. My toddler noticed another kid’s snack sitting on the bench. He quickly snatched it and sprinted away screaming “apple! apple!” while the other kid ran after him. So there I was trying to run after two very fast toddlers in the middle of the park while other moms laughed at me.
Any words of wisdom for other moms?
Don't sweat the small stuff; your kids will be okay! Trust your instincts and take advice and help as you need it.
What is your favorite thing about FIT4MOM? What would you tell someone thinking about joining?
I love that the classes benefits me and my son and we enjoy it together. Amin enjoys the nursery rhymes and playgroups while I can feel strong and energized after every class from the workouts and conversations with my village. If you're on the fence, just show up to one class and give it a try!
