What to expect

FIT4BABY® Classes (prenatal)

BEING PREPARED

FIT4BABY® is one of our child free classes to focus on just YOU mama! When coming to our prenatal class all you'll need is a bottle of water and a mat/towel for abs ~ and most importantly a big smile! We'll take care of the rest!

Stroller Strides® and Stroller Barre® Classes

BEING PREPARED

When you come to class, please bring:

  • stroller of any kind
  • water
  • sunblock (outdoor class)
  • mat or towel for abdominal exercises
  • baby essentials
  • eat a healthy breakfast or light snack before coming to class - this is very important if you are a nursing mother
  • consider bringing a post-class snack with you, especially if you plan to stick around after class for awhile

FUSSY BABIES

Our first priority is the happiness of your baby. Because we stop in regular intervals for body toning, you can always catch up with us if you fall behind. If your baby ever fusses so much that you miss class, we will be happy to credit you another class. Our instructors will do their very best to make class enjoyable.

EXERCISING PRE AND POST BABY

Always obtain your physician's approval before beginning any exercise routine. Unless you have a medical condition that limits you, your physician will typically give the thumbs up at 6 weeks postpartum. We encourage expectant moms to continue to exercise through their pregnancy as long as everything has been approved by their physician. Instructors are trained in both pre and post natal fitness and follow the ACOG guidelines. We can modify any exercise that poses an issue as you progress through your pregnancy.

YOUR WORKOUT

These classes are no walk in the park... In just one hour you will get a complete head to toe workout that will have you feeling energized and looking fit! Classes are designed for ALL different fitness levels and are taught by certified instructors who are also moms. During our stations, we use resistance bands, open fields for drills or obstacles, benches or steps and anything in the environment to give you a great workout!

STROLLER FORM

As you walk, lead with your chest with your shoulders pulled back and down. Wrists should remain in neutral alignment and keep your hips close to your stroller.

STAYING IN THE STROLLER

We know your kids often want to get out of the stroller and join in the class, but we encourage you to keep your children in the stroller. Their safety is our biggest priority!

SHARING THE ROAD (outdoor class)

We share the road with many walkers, runners, bicyclists, etc. Please keep to the right and pass on the left.

Body Back® Classes

Body Back® is one of our child free classes. This allows you to focus on YOU! We two locations - 2 sessions, early morning in Burke (5:30am) and evening in Lorton (7:30pm). The workouts are HIIT (High Intensity Interval Training) so be sure to bring plenty of water. Also you will want to bring a towel, mat and a big smilel to every class. Try to arrive 15 minutes prior to class start.

Run Club®

We meet at Workhouse Arts Center in the main parking lot to the left. Arrive at least ten minutes prior to group run. Bring plenty of water. Group runs are stroller friendly, yet not required. Family members are eligible for enrollment as well!
